Where are they now?
This page was last updated on 25/01/08
Usually in the WAKEFIELD FILES we find the vehicle but don't always know its history, In the following cases early history is known, but the vehicles have disappeared. Efforts to trace them via letters in magazines such as Horse & Rider, Classic & Vintage Commercials, Heritage Commercials, & Bus & Coach Preservation, have failed to unearth them. If you know where they are, or what happened to them, John Wakefield would like to know. They are as follows:
Can anyone help in tracing what happened to Bedford/Duple OB registration number
The PSV Circle record that it was exported to Japan circa 1990 to Mitsubishi, or a director of the company. Its last owner in the UK was
Skills of Nottingham, but enquiries there have proved fruitless. We have tried contacting Mitsubishi but there are so many divisions that it is difficult to get answers. As it was in very good running order when it went out to Japan it should have survived. Maybe in a museum.
NKR 250 1951 Bedford SB with Thurgood coachwork. We have received a lead that suggests the this Thurgood bodied Bedford SB dating from 1951 may have been exported to Holland. Can anyone please confirm any sightings etc.

KAR 20C Morris CV11/30 with Stocker C16F body
This mini coach built in 1965 on a 1939 lorry chassis is one of four small mini coaches built by Harry Stocker of St Margaret's near Ware, Herts. Along with restored example AJD 959 now owned by Felix of Long Melford, KAR 20C is believed to be the only other survivor. Last known whereabouts were in 2002 when it was advertised for sale at Abridge, Essex in February & later reported by the then vendor, John Evans, as sold May 2002 to person unknown in the Brentwood/Billericay area. Despite an 'Information wanted' advert, together with a photo of it at the time of sale, in Bus & Coach Preservation magazine, nothing has transpired. KAR 20C could of course be anywhere by now, even out of the country.
This vehicle has now been located with an owner near Brentwood, Essex
