One emotional event though, concerning the Commer Avenger (VTD 353) was when former owner driver Peter Shepherd, who owned the coach in 1969, was re-united with it in September 2003. Peter who now lives near Haverhill, Suffolk, and still drives coaches part time, used VTD 353 on school contract work for eight months before selling it on to its last owner Hammond & Howard of Bury St Edmunds. Peter recalls that the Commer with its TS3 two stroke engine was 'a bit of a flyer'.
