Volvo B10M Van Hool B51F Alizee. service bus

Restoration is now complete on this rare Volvo B10M Van Hool B51F Alizee. service bus. One of only two Alizee 'Local Traffic' bodied buses to a Swedish specification imported to the UK in 1984, both going to Hutchinson's of Overton. B948 ASU later passed to West Coast Motors, Campbeltown; Black Prince of Morley; & in 1996 to Suffolk bus operator Beeston of Hadleigh. The Volvo was withdrawn from service after an engine fire & was destined for the scrap heap when Cyril Kenzie acquired it in 2004 from a salvage company. It has now been fully restored in Kenzies 1980's coach style livery, the only major deviation to its original spec. is it is now fitted with set of new Plaxton coach seats. The destination mechanism is at present inoperable as some parts had been removed & lost by previous owners. Cyril would like to hear from anyone with a suitable mechanism for the bus.(01763260288)
The other Hutchinson Alizee B947 ASU, is believed to still be active with G.H.A. Coaches of Wrexham now re registered as A15 RBL. It was previously owned by Rhonda Buses Ltd.
